This page contains information to assist our customers with utilizing the Timeline feature in RegScale. It describes what it is, why you would use it, the benefits, and provides instructions on getting started.
What is it?
When events occur, it's usually helpful to have a timeline documenting what happened at what time. Within RegScale, users can build timelines against any component of the system, allowing you to:
- Document the timeline of events against an incident, assessment, causal analysis or any other component
- Visualize the timeline in a graphical representation
Why would you use it?
By building timelines against a record in RegScale, you have the ability to:
- Capture important information around an event and its' associated date
- Create a time stamped history reflecting who made what change to the record
What are the benefits?
RegScale Timeline feature provides a number of key capabilites that are useful in managing a robust compliance program, to include:
- Capture events in a Compliance System of Record for future reference
- Present event timelines to decision makers for causal analysis
How do I use it?
The Timeline feature in RegScale is available against every record in the system. Follow these steps to create a timeline of events:
- Select the record for which you wish to build a timeline (e.g. Incident)
- In Compliance Explorer, go to the Timeline tab
- In the Timeline Builder, enter an Event Title, Description, Event Date and Event Type
- Repeat for each event that is associated with this record
- Scroll down to see the visual depiction of these events in a timeline
