Report Builder

Report Builder enables users to create customizable reports and visualizations using compliance and risk data in RegScale. Reports support continuous control monitoring and audit readiness by enabling quick access to filtered, structured insights.

Create a Report

1. Access Report Builder

  • In the navigation menu, select Reports.
  • On the Reports page, select Create New Report.

List Report Configuration

Use this method to create tabular (list) reports.

2. Define Report Basics

  • Enter a Report Title.
  • Select List as the chart type.
  • Click Next.

3. Configure Report Content

  • Select a Module to report on.
  • Choose one or more Fields from the Select Fields dropdown.
    • Selected fields appear under Display Fields, where you can reorder or remove them.
  • (Optional) Add Filters by clicking + and specifying a field, operator, and value.
    • Supports Dynamic / Relative Filters:
      • Date FieldsNext X Days, Within the Last X Days
      • UserCurrent User
      • OrganizationMy Organization
  • (Optional) Define Filter Logic using AND/OR operators and parentheses (e.g., 1 AND (2 OR 3)).
  • (Optional) Select Sorting Fields to control the display order of results.

4. Finalize and Save

  • Click Generate Report to preview.
  • Click Done in the bottom-left corner to save and exit.

Bar, Line, or Pie Chart Configuration

Use this method to build visual chart reports.

2. Define Report Basics

  • Enter a Report Title.
  • Select Bar, Line, or Pie as the chart type.
  • Click Next.

3. Configure Chart Data

  • Select a Module to report on.
  • Configure the chart by selecting:
    • Group By field (X-axis or category)
    • Aggregate field (Y-axis or value)
    • Aggregation Type (e.g., Count, Sum, Average)
  • (Optional) Add Filters and define Filter Logic.
    • Supports Dynamic / Relative Filters:
      • Date FieldsNext X Days, Within the Last X Days
      • UserCurrent User
      • OrganizationMy Organization
  • Select any Drill-Down Fields, Display Fields, and Sorting Fields as needed.

4. Finalize and Save

  • Click Generate Report to preview.
  • Click Done in the bottom-left corner to save and exit.

Manage Existing Reports

View or Open

  • In the navigation menu, go to Reports.
  • Select a report where the source is Report Builder.

Share

  • Click Share to email a link to users or groups.

More Actions

Click the More Tools menu (three-dot icon) to access additional options:

  • Edit – Modify the report configuration.
  • Export – Download the report as a CSV file.
  • Subscriptions – Set up automated report delivery (see below).
  • Delete – Permanently remove the report.

Subscriptions

Use subscriptions to automatically deliver reports on a recurring schedule.

Create a Subscription

  1. Open a report and select Subscriptions from the More Tools menu.
  2. In the Type dropdown, select how often to send the report (e.g., Daily, Weekly).
  3. Under Recipients, select users or groups.
  4. Set a Start Date to begin sending.
  5. Click Create to save the subscription.

Manage Subscriptions

  • Existing subscriptions appear in a table with:
    • Recipient email
    • Start date
    • Recurrence type
    • Last sent timestamp
  • To remove a subscription, click Delete next to the entry.
