Relationship Manager Feature
This page contains information to assist our customers with utilizing the Relationship Manager feature in RegScale. It describes what it is, why you would use it, the benefits, and provides instructions on getting started.
What is it?
The relationship manager is used to model complex relationships between modules/records in RegScale. In the compliance explorer, records are related hierarchically in a one to many fashion. To support more complex modeling, the relationship manager allows RegScale users to establish many to many relationship between any module/record in RegScale to another.
Why would you use it?
The Relationship Manager are most commonly used to describe complex relationships between objects. There are many reasons to use this feature which include:
- Issue recurrence when leveraging the RegScale Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine
- Describing a relationship to another record to establish a linkage between them
What are the benefits?
This feature has multiple benefits for an organization; to include:
- Improving the understanding of how records are related in the system
- Improved ability to perform complex many-to-many record modeling
- Improving collaboration across teams when records are related
How do I use it?
Instructions for using this feature are provided below:
- Relationship Manager is available as a subsystem on all forms with RegScale Enterprise Edition (EE)
- To create a new relationship, do the following:
- Pick the module of the record you want to relate from the dropdown list
- Search for the specific record you are looking for
- Select the item from the search results to relate
- Describe the relationship between the two records
- Save the Relationship
- Leverage the red "Delete" button to remove a relationship
- Use the "Bulk Edit" feature to update descriptions of relationships using an Excel-like grid
- You can create an unlimited number of relationships for any given record
- Relationships will display for both records that are linked
